Spring has Sprung!

( yes - i realize the date is over a month ago....)

Today is the first day of spring!

It's the season to start spending more time outdoors. As long as this weather holds out, I will be happy to get out of the house! Opening the windows, warm days, airing out the house, cool nights. The weather today is wonderful - I just wish I could be working outdoors instead of here in the office... That is one thing I miss about working outside - days with this kind of weather. I don't miss the scorching hot or the cold though.... I am ready to get summer started! Long evenings, the river, the lake, the beach, the woods... oh yes - we will be doing all of it this summer.

Spring is just the prelude to the summer... there is more to still look forward to!

Daydreaming

Today I am in a bit of a daze. I have been sitting here daydreaming...
thinking of warm weather...
ocean breeze....

the sound of the waves...

the smell of the sea...

the warmth of the sun beating down on me...

and can't help but wonder about being on a deserted tropical island. I would love to be swinging beneath the trees in a double hammock with my man; shades covering my eyes and blocking the bright sun; half-finished novel laying in the sand under us; watching my son playing along the waves; breeze blowing every now and again to cool us off just a bit; listening to nothing in particular, but hearing every little noise there is; sand, sun, water, and seclusion.

the daydream begins...

...if I had my own private get-away island in the tropics...

the daydream ends...

Tweety Bug

Here is just a little tribute to our kitten, Tweety Bug. (she had surgery yesterday - spayed) She came through with flying colors so far - I am just hoping it will help out with the other "problems" we were having with her.

We moved into a new house in the middle of December. A few weeks later, my son heard a cat under one of the neighbors houses and went to investigate. He found this little cat and took her across the street to the house that he thought she belonged to. a couple days later, he had to "rescue" her from up a tree. (My belief is that if the cat can get up there, they can get down.) After the rescue, she wouldn't leave the house. We decided that since the men in my life actually like cats, we would adopt her. I, on the other hand, am allergic to cats. I deal with the occasional sniffle, hives, and itching eyes to watch my loves smiling away when they hold the kitten. She has nearly tripled in size in the couple months we have had her. I enjoy having her around - she makes a really good foot-warmer at the end of the bed on a cold night!
